Safety and trust on NearbyON
NearbyON helps you find local pros and talk to them directly. Here’s what we do to keep it safe, what you should still check, and how to report a problem.
What we do

Sign-in with a one-time code
Pros sign in with a 6-digit code sent to their phone or e-mail. There are no passwords to steal.

A license you can check
For trades that need a license, like electrical, plumbing and AC, pros can add their license number. In Florida, their page links to the state’s official lookup so you can check it in seconds.

Real photos of real work
Pros show photos of jobs they did. If something looks wrong, report it.

Reported pages come down
Every pro page has a Report button. When several different people report the same page, it goes offline automatically until the pro reviews it.

Your number stays yours
We never show a customer’s number to pros, and we never sell anyone’s information. You choose who to message.
What you should still check
We help you find pros. Before you hire, take a few minutes for these:
- The license, for electrical, plumbing, AC, roofing and structural work.
- Proof of insurance.
- A written contract with the price, the dates and the warranty.
- Payment in stages. Never the whole job up front.
Our guides explain how:
What NearbyON is, and isn’t
NearbyON is a directory: we help you find pros and talk to them. We don’t employ the pros, we don’t do the work, and we’re not part of your agreement with them. We don’t confirm everything a pro writes on their page, so check the license and ask questions before you hire.
We’ll never ask for your code
Nobody from NearbyON will ever ask for your sign-in code, a password or a payment by gift card. If someone does, it isn’t us.
Report a problem
- A pro’s page: tap “Report this page” at the bottom of it.
- Anything else: write to [email protected].
- Someone working without a license in Florida: call the state’s hotline, 1-866-532-1440.
- An emergency: call 911.
